Stories from IAF : The JWO (Junior Warrant Officer) had read too many James Hadley Chase novels and in his enthusiasm, roared at the trainees that he did not want to see anything black below the Cap (uniform Cap of IAF), which meant that he did not wish to see any black hairs below the Cap's hem. It was a rhetorical speech for instilling discipline and fear into the souls of the trainees, but two jokers intentionally took it literarily. Shaved off their head with long hairs remaining at the crown that was covered by the Cap. Next day there was a huge uproar. Impending Inspection by C-in-C ( Commander in Chief) who himself was bald but a total martinet, and it seemed very sensitive to matters concerning hairs. The officers at the station had no idea what to do with these jokers. It took 5 hours of cajoling and threatening before these two agreed to shave off their heads completely. The whole day they were jeered , laughed at, encouraged and the whole riot. But their points went across, that they understood and we're intelligent enough to follow orders and rubbing in repeatedly was not required. #IAF #Life
