about ardent lovers, Rishab Pant, and second chances Life is Cricket #1

There is something glorious about test cricket. An ardent lover of the game will know what I mean here. According to my definition, an ardent lover is someone who has been watching, listening, or playing cricket for at least 15 years— yes, that's my criteria. Do I qualify as an ardent lover of the game? Of course!

When you fall deeply in love with the game, you realise many things about life. There are lessons, realisations, and rich memories; and everything is cherished as the game makes a man a fine wine. There are boys who become men. There are invincibles who become vulnerable. There are legends who are forgotten. And there are nobodys who become somebody.

It happened when I was at the peepee. You know, boys, they think about cricket literally everywhere. So I thought about Rishab Pant scoring this majestic hundred at Edgbaston yesterday. The man is a very interesting phenomena. Sometimes he is the most criticized, sometimes the most adored. In all my years of watching cricket, there's no player who is at such extremes. Anyway, let's get to the main part. Um, where was I? At the toilet? No! I was at the realisation that happened there.
