ON WRITING One thing, i can say, is that it's truly imperative to know the medium--the language used. Say, for instance, when we use the English language, it's significant to go back to the basics. No one advances without going down to the basics of speech. In poetry, as it is in prose, there is a need to know how to use correct grammar and punctuation. It isn't required to use highfalutin words. In fact, a lot will say that using simple words, is far better. In order to really get into the heart of poetry writing, we must make sure that we read about the language--get to know its basics. Because, everything is understood, clearly, when we use each word, each punctuation mark, each line break, correctly. In my opinion, that is an important foundation to really make each piece effective. Inviting all to please contribute other valuable tips regarding poetry and prose writing.
