I PICKED MY CALL Aww. Just jump into the caption, theek hai? One day a strange thought struck me. I am adept at tickling the naughty side of me, so this time around the mischievous me decided to dial my own number. I heard a recorded voice repeat 'the person you are talking to is talking to someone else' amidst giggles from me. Hey, am I not always talking to myself inside my stupid head? The smartphone is smart, right? I dialled once more n many more times..the same message was replayed. OMG! I must be crazy to be talking to myself for hours. I gave one last try. The phone rang n guess what? I picked it up. I heard a 'hello' n 'I'm chitra speaking' very distinctly. What do I say? I recalled the 2010 movie 'karthik calling karthik'. This was Chitra calling Chitra. I giggled some more. Was my mind playing tricks? Was I a schizophrenic? My giggling stopped abruptly as fear took hold over me. I cut the phone and promised myself not to play such tricks anymore. I was alone and holed up at home no thanks to the lockdown. I opened the window and saw a monkey holding onto the grills. 'Monkey staring at Monkey?'. I laughed at the thought. Hmmm.
