And I stay there, watching her look at the beaut

And I stay there,
watching her look
at the beautiful lights,
reflected by the river,
And all I pray to God
to save that moment
in my heart forever....

A Last Call

I received the call and told her I will meet her there. I reached the banks of the river and I see her standing on the platform. The waves were just crashing below the paltform. She was lost in her thoughts. And, I was standing there watching her look at the water and see the glow on her face. She looked so peaceful that all I prayed to God to stop the time so I could relish the moment and save it in my heart for all eternity.

I approached her and she turned around when she saw me through the corner of her eyes. She smiled and looked back at the river. I got beside her and watched the river spread all around. The night lights added an extra soothness and it was encaptivating. We stood there for a few moments when she spoke and said, it was her favorite spot in the whole city. She told me she had been coming there since she was 16. She came here every time she wanted to forget about everything. And came always alone. I asked her why share this now.

She said she was leaving the city next day with her boyfriend for a fresh start for her life. I was shocked but I understood. She lost her father a year ago and just now resigned from the job. She needed a fresh start. I stood there in silence. She said his boyfriend got this amazing new job in other city courtesy of my contacts. And she'd be crazy to not go with everything that has happened with her in the last year. She asked if she would be crazy to not go. I look at her face, vulnerable and hurting. I tell her that there's this one, magical moment in life where we think that we have everything we could ever wish for and then all of a sudden there comes a person that walks in our lives and we realize how wrong we were. And if she thinks that her boyfriend is that one person then, yes she would be crazy not to go.
