The challenge with establishing best practices for mental health is that mental health is often compared unlike physical well-being and the patient is made to feel weak.

For example, if you have a flu, it is understood that you are unwell and you need rest. But if you say you are mentally stressed and need a break, your condition is often compared to others. You will hear things like "Look at X, Y, Z or myself for instance, I also have a hectic schedule and I probably do more work than you. Chin up! Be strong. How come you are stressed with something as little as this"
