खिड़कियों से, अब ये जहां मुझे, अच्छा नहीं लगता ! कोई कैद है मेरी आंखों में, मुझे सोना अच्छा नहीं लगता ! सोचता हूँ निकल जाए, कोई मेरी आंखों से आंसू..! आंसुओं को अब पलकों वाला, रास्ता अच्छा नहीं लगता ! कितने मीलों, दूर आ गया तू बिन बोले 'मयंक अब तो अपनों के साथ, बोलना भी मुझे अच्छा नहीं लगता ! ग़फ़लत सी है ज़िस्म में, कोई अजीब निशानी बता रही, मुझे श्री गंगा के किनारे को, छोड़कर कुछ अच्छा नहीं लगता ! जमाने भर की आवाज़ें आई, मेरी भरी जवानी में, मुझे तेरी नादानी के, सिवाय कुछ अच्छा नहीं लगता ! मांग कर आया हूँ, बहती माँ-गंगा के चरणों में बैठकर, एक तेरी बेटी के साथ को, छोड़कर मुझे कुछ अच्छा नहीं लगता ! कबूल कर लेना, माँ गंगे मेरी कांपती हुई प्रार्थना, अब हर बार आकर मांगू, बेटी का हाथ माँ को भी अच्छा नहीं लगता !
