Mist on a midnight calls
For a last night show.
I woke up slow,
Tip-toed the door open,
The green whispered at me
And I whispered back.
She told me all she has to say
And my secrets were secrets no more.
Somewhere between my footsteps
And the whispers alone
The faded azan strung in;
The first time that it was soothing.
A silence called in between us
Then the prayer bell was heard,
Not the first time it disturbed me,
I hung up.

Down this road of rapture,
A boy stepped once
Into deliberate puddles of innocence;
The pigeons coo and flap
The heavy wings, two pups
Run and chase the wind that chills.
Behind the hazy panes there, now
Sleeps some lazy lad wrapped in cosy.
Open thy eyes and listen,
How leaves, wind and puddles
Play the strings of rain and wrong.

Drip-drop-drip! I frowned
And I stepped out.
I strolled that path and alley down
The boy was gone,
The puddles dry, they mourn.
Only men with heavy sigh and I
Stride in pace, lured
By the world that belie.
