Cross Section of a Cake
Most often than not, cake makers will not be able to see how their cake creations get sliced. When my high school teacher ordered a cake for her daughter, she gamely sent me a picture of my cake work S L I C E D !!! Whoa!!! The luscious caramel filling was a sight to behold. A surprising lava flow of deliciousness!
Wedding Cake with Sugar Frosted Roses
Even when you have been making cakes for years, there are still things you haven't done and new techniques to be learned. For a simple wedding cake order, the bride requested fresh roses as the cake's decor and that they be in the color of the wedding motiff. I was in fact very happy to accept the challenge as just a couple of days before this order, I've chanced upon an internet post on how to color fresh flowers and give them a sparkly sugar coat. It pays to constantly update oneself specially in your chosen field. So here it is... my simple two tier wedding cake... in carrot and cream cheese frosting and sugar-frosted roses. The bride was happy with her cake!!!
A Deligrace Cars Cake
I actually started baking and decorating cakes when my brother challenged me to make him one for a birthday party 19 years ago. And the rest as they say is history. Never had formal classes on cake making and decorating but as my favorite saying goes: "if there's a will, there's a way". If you love what you do, you will be able to make it!
