Never knew this day would come,
A day to talk about loss;
Loss of a friend and mother together.
A friend whom never turned his back
And always offer the shoulder to lean.
A type of friend who’s there to listen
my endless midnight rants.
Countless night I wept and slept on her lap
As a mother she never sung lullabies to me
But in her I found all the solace I needed.

Not enough words to tell how much
I would miss this beautiful relationship,
But here I’m hoping for a miracle to happen.
How much it aches when you know the end date
And counting each day as a step closer to the end.
The end is here nearing but not ready to let it go.
