How I'd hold your velvety hands amidst a daffodil field and would paint you with a palette of love because ' love ' was my favourite colour. How we'd lay under the sky and it'd change to a deep shade of turquoise, my mother's favourite gem.

And it felt like a warm hug, smelled like home.
And I never understood how anybody could call blue a sad colour,
Until of course, the day you wore a blue t-shirt like a guard to not let me see the pain of you saying goodbye even when we did not need to.

Till that lady who always scented as chlorine taught me how to swim,
