Ravan pulled. But the Lingam did not budge. "Huh? This is no Lingam! These are cow ears now! a defeated Ravan stopped tugging. (These cow ears sticking out became the site of a famous temple called Gokarnam or cow's ears. People pay respect to Shiva's Atma-lingam here). Thus, Ravan returned to Lanka with nothing to show!
