White Yet again, I find myself sitting under the moonlight. The same place as always, though it’s been a good while. “Good,” as I say—not pleasant, but long. A long while without the sound of your laugh, The one I still yearn to hear once more. A long while without the warmth of your amber eyes— Eyes I adored—and still do. A long while without the joy of that beautiful smile, The very first thing I ever fell in love with. A long while without you. As time passes, my hope begins to waver— Hope that you’ll come back and we’ll have what we once did. “Perhaps it was my fault,” I tell myself, day after day. “I must have done something wrong.” Again and again, I’m willing to take the blame, The blame for anything, everything—even if it wasn’t my mistake.
