Hrithik Roshan joins the bandwagon of Hollywood aspirants
Despite the stardom that they enjoy in India, Bollywood stars are increasingly looking for work in the West. After Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, now a host of stars including Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor hope to make it big in Hollywood.42-year-old Hrithik Roshan has been in the news lately, not for his ugly legal spat with Kangana Ranaut or the teaser of his next film Kaabil that has earned him rave reviews, but this time around for his quick secretive trip to Singapore. While initial reports suggested that the actor had gone on a romantic getaway with a secret lady, his team was quick to deny the reports adding that he had in fact gone to meet executives from a Hollywood studio for an upcoming project.Bollywood fashionista Sonam Kapoor too had expressed her willingness to work in the West in the recent past. She in fact has signed up with Hollywood's most popular talent agencies - UTA, which can boast of a clientele like Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp, to look for the right projects. Though Sonam's last appearance in an international project has been for Coldplay's music video for the song Hymn For The Weekend, her father Anil Kapoor is one of Hollywood's favourite Indian stars. He has starred in a number of projects like the 2008 runaway hit Slumdog Millionaire and Mission Impossible: The Ghost Protocol in 2011.
This trend was further strengthened by critically acclaimed performer Irrfan Khan who made a mark with films like New York, I Love You in 2008, Life Of Pi that released in 2012 and more recently in Inferno alongside Tom Hanks that released earlier this year. Amongst the women, it was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who kickstarted the fad of working in the West. With performances in films like the Last Legion in 2007 co-starring Ben Kingsley and Colin Firth or Provoked in the same year or even The Pink Panther 2 in 2009, Aishwarya paved the way for others to follow.
Two of Bollywood's most sought after actors, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone will be making their big Hollywood debut next year. While PeeCee, an already established face on American TV, thanks to ABC series Quantico, will be seen playing the vamp in Baywatch releasing in May 2017; Deepika will be sharing screen space with Vin Diesel in XXX: Return Of Xander Cage due for release in January next year. With more and more reports of actors looking to work in the West, one thing is for sure... no matter how big a star you are in India, opportunity for a plump role abroad continues to be on top of our Bollywood celebrities' bucket list.
How can one develops his or her sense of humor :
1. Ability to laugh at self
It's amazing how genuinely funny self-deprecatory jokes can be. If you're a serious brooding person who thinks that you're better than the world, forget this genre. But you'll be losing a lot.
2. Being able to take things lightly
This is the foundation from which you can take off into the world of humour. If you usually get worked up over every single little thing, chances are you're going to struggle to crack a joke. Let's face it; you'll be in no mood to think of anything funny.
3. Enjoy being the cause of laughter
Almost every single funny person I've ever met has this trait. There's a certain pride and selflessness that's part of being able to make people laugh. When you get addicted to that 'high', you'll be digging out every opportunity to make people laugh. There're not too many better things in the world than seeing people around you uncontrollably laughing at something funny you said.
4. Educate yourself
The lesser topics you know, the lesser genres of humour you can explore. There's a reason why all people with a great sense of humour are informed and intelligent. It takes much exposure to the outside world to be able to make most jokes. If you're a quiet, silent guy, who likes to shield himself in the darkness of your room, you won't have too much room to play with. Literally.
5. Learn from the experts
Watch humorous movies. Watch stand-up comedies. Watch funny soaps. The trick is not to watch with the ulterior motive of trying to learn the art. I always tell people who want to learn English to avoid watching films with that motive in the back of their head. It's when you truly immerse yourself and enjoy something that your mind automatically picks up certain things. This way, the whole exercise also stops seeming like work.
6. Enjoy conversations and experiment
Face it, you can't say a joke if you don't enjoy conversations. Learn to be open-minded, and talk and listen to people. The more you talk, the better you'll get at it. Similarly, the more you joke, the more you'll discover your area of strength. Experiment. Try various genres. Word play, sarcasm, slapstick ... you'll figure out based on people's reactions what your strength is. The more you play, the better you'll get. Also, remember: There aren't too many things in the world that you cannot joke about.
7. Timing: Strike when the time is right. You need to know when is the opportune moment to unleash the humor Kraken.
8. Quick thinking and Wordplay: "Most important part of English language are punctuations. They are the ones which differentiate 'I helped Uncle Jack, off a horse' from 'I helped Uncle jack off a horse'".
What is your opinion about the recent Gillette controversy?
Ha, ha, this is one of stupidest thing I have ever seen.
This is the add-
So they are basically claiming that only tiny minority portions of men are good and majority of men are bigot, racist, evil, rapists, criminals, wife beaters, cheaters etc etc
So men need to cut off their toxic masculinity by cutting off their beard with Gillette razor :D
Ha, ha, a clear SJW campaign, ha, ha
I am finding it funny that how a major corporate group like Gillette is shooting themselves on their feet by maligning 99% of their customers
I believe only Gillette Venus will be sold from now on
Good luck to Gillette :D
I don't use Gillette anyway
I prefer Philips and it always gives me a good deal
Other competitors of Gillette will be very happy
Look make no mistake, I have nothing against women's right or freedom
I am young man so if I have girl child in the future, I will give her all the independence to do whatever she wants to do with her life, she can wear whatever she wants
But I don't support mordern feminism, infact I hate it
The biggest problem with mordern women's right movement isn't the men, it's this kind of SJW bullshit
More and more young women don't want to be associated themselves with feminsm anymore
It's not a cool and hip thing anymore
This new matriarchy Feminist lobby wants to make men slave to them, well good luck to that :D
They are basically pushing for a gender war
I mean how stupid and clueless one can be to wish for that kind of Doomsday scenario :D
These are basically delusional, living in their own bubble, unhappy, men hater women :D
They are also not poor so they don't have to put the hard yeard like men do which is why they are completely oblivious to the reality
They are themselves are the real enemies of women's right not men :D
I am pretty sure they have absolutely no clue about that
Look women are not really living like men, only in recent times in human civilization they are going outside like men and working
As more and more women will live outside world like men, they will start to behave exactly like the men which they are constantly preaching against as men are not some aliens from another planet, men are men because of raw reality and situation around them, so these delusional lobby can shout all they want, they are not winning anything as they will become more like men with times as the very thing they hate :D
As they say the real life is a real bitch :D
I have one thing to say to women's right group stop trying to control men, rather help women to get over their issues, there are some real orginal problems with women
Otherwise don't call yourself women's right movement
Call yourself men hater toxic masculinity preacher unhappy cult :D

Love Salt a Bit Too Much? It Could Be Dangerous For Your Heart
Come summer, come winter, we Indians love salty food. We can't imagine snack time without munching on chatpata fries, samosas, chaats and other namkeens. While most of us are aware of the fact that too much salt is not good for our health, we often turn a blind eye, or forget to keep a check amidst all the celebrations and get-togethers. Just a little pinch of it can transform an ordinary dish into a lip-smacking treat. The truth is salt as an ingredient is not completely bad for our health. Natural forms of salt contain various minerals that can prove to be beneficial for us. But the refined variety, which is known as table salt and that's what we bring home to cook our meals, is devoid of any goodness. So consuming large quantities of it can spike up blood pressure and other ailments.
A recent study has revealed that Indians love salt a little too much. The study conducted by an Australian firm suggests that an average Indian consumes about 119% more salt than the WHO recommendation. WHO guidelines suggest that an individual should limit intake of salt to 2gm per day. The average intake by Indians was noted to be 10.98 gms which is more than 5 times the limit. This is alarming given the rise of Cadiovascular Diseases (CVDs)in India in the recent year. Between 2010 and 2013, around 23% of all deaths in India were attributed to Cardiovascular dieases.Conducted by George Institute of Global Health (GIGH), the study was published in The Journal of Hypertension. Doctors have for long discussed and advocated against the excess intake of Salt. Too much salt in your body can lead to a High Blood pressure, which in turn can cause several other heart-related diseases.
The WHO believes that high sodium consumption (more than 2 gm of sodium which is equivalent to 5 gm salt per day) and insufficient potassium intake (less than 3.5 gm per day) contribute to high blood pressure and increase the risk of heart disease and stroke.Dr Sanjay Kalra, Consultant Endocrinologist, Bharti Hospital, Karnal, and Vice President, South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies, said, "Processed and fast foods have become the norm since they are easier to make and carry, and consume. Consumption of pulses, fruits and vegetables has reduced." "A processed food diet is full of sugar, harmful fats, and excess salt leading to conditions such as high blood pressure, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases.
High blood pressure can also lead to kidney failure by causing extra strain on the arteries," he added. The study also notes that every measure of salt intake made in India except one has provided an estimate above the WHO-recommended maximum consumption level of 5 gm/day. The best estimate obtained by this meta-analysis suggests that average salt intake in India is double the recommended maximum level. Another study - published in the British Medical Journal - has shown that a government-supported national policy on reducing sodium intake by 10 per cent over 10 years can help reduce the burden of several lifestyle disorders including hypertension and heart disease.
Dr K K Aggarwal, National President, Indian Medical Association (IMA), said "While sodium is needed by the body in certain amounts, an excess of it is very harmful. Excess salt is directly related to blood pressure. Increase in salt consumption raises the sodium level, thereby increasing blood pressure." "It can also double the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease, heart failure, and strokes.
So it's about time you started keeping a strict check on your salt intake.
