Missing a friend

A pet that is quite unlike any other
Unconditional love they always give
Beside you through thick and thin
The perfect roommate with you to live

They miss you deeply when you leave
Fifteen minutes to them is an eternity
When you return they are so delighted
They leave their mark on us eternally

When you must say goodbye to your friend
It is the hardest thing ever to endure
Flashes of them replaying in your mind
You will forever remember them for sure

Time goes by but their memory never fades
Times spent with them you never forget

I know you're near, though out of sight, In echoes soft, in stars at night. Whenever loneliness clouds my day, I read our chats—they never fade away. I never thought I'd stand alone, With questions left, but answers gone. Nikku, you knew my soul so well, Yet left me trapped in this silent shell. Mumma asks, "Where has he gone?"
