White A LOOK AT LIFE-115 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY Under self-hypnosis One moves away from reality Silently runs in a crowded lane Carrying a heavy load on his shoulder Without being aware of it One sinks further and further Under the burden of Love, relation and infatuation Duty, work and reciprocation Pelf and power Ego, hatred and jealousy Appreciation, accolades and recognition And all that is pseudo and artificial Until one finds himself deep in the abyss His lone asylum Time comes When one fails to carry himself Carry the burden He has been carrying all along He realises Over the years he was just a beast of burden He just becomes a nobody A spent force, a liability With no one around He looks at himself Look at the relationship he cultivated. The life he lived in vain The more one carries The more one worries Few understand it Those who mean it They make sense of life The most pathetic part of life One creates a world on his blood and sweat Only to find at the end an alien world With which he fails to identify. White MY MOTHER-1 ମୋ ବୋଉ In your funeral pyre Burning my whole world My love and tears, wishes and ambitions My past, present and future The dreams and dramas We shared over the years When you closed your eyes I lost my vision When you lost your ears I lost my hearing When you lost your brain I lost my reasoning The eyes that do not see you The ears which do not hear you The senses which do not feel you Of what use are these? Now I understand What it means being truly orphaned Losing both the earth and sky In between which I have been all along I am up against reality None in front none in the back None to my right none to the left Life is silently walking on fire If you can see See in your absence how Sad and pathetic life is How poor I have become In few hours I have become the most Unfortunate man on earth A begar in fact I am speechless The poor navigator In the boisterous sea Silently watching the boat Sinking in the deep-sea And I am going deep down In the dark abyss. Never thought of a life without you How to reconcile to the reality That you are no more No more with my smile and tears Happiness and sorrow You are in my heart But I am miles away from you Tell me! how can I bridge up the gap And come near? White SOMETHING I LOOK AT-78 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY Look at yourself is there anyone like you as beautiful as different as you are no one like you, no one can be A masterpiece you are so also your creations don't search yourself your identity in others that is injustice to your inner being denial of your own creativity and allowing it to die silently inside is it not a crime against the almighty who has given you everything to flower and flourish to become a parasite? You know it better you are just presenting someone's shadow as yourself putting someone's clothes will never make you the man he is realise the truth you are as good as anyone else yours is yours, his is his so unique and so different no amount of literature can take their place Don't do anything which your heart does not accept mind never reconciles be yourself there lies the real satisfaction no one is taller than the real you that you actually are find it, for a change look at the mirror you are as beautiful and unique as anyone else Smruti Ranjan Mohanty ©Smruti Ranjan Mohanty #Moon SOMETHING I LOOK AT-78 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY Look at yourself is there anyone like you as beautiful as different as you are no one

White SOMETHING I LOOK AT-159 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY LET ME SILENTLY WITHER AWAY Before someone tells me it is time and I must quit, let me leave the centre stage making space for someone more fit. Before they stop talking, let me talk to myself, listen to my voice, make me my best friend, Let me learn to keep quiet. With no takers to what I say, let me value the beauty of silence and remain within myself Let me silently wither away I know am not of any use to anyone, don't have enough strength and will to carry on my shoulder someone else. Let me accept the reality Neither I can help nor accept, nor can I teach and advise or listen to someone's idiocy and high handedness Before the world leaves me where I have been, let me withdraw from all that I loved, endured and fancied more than my love and life. Let me not forget I am still alive and someone needs me. We are to live the last part of life with ease and dignity Let me be with my love who carried my smile and tears, love and frustration over the years without caring for her own She can not see me reduced to a nonentity, a man without dreams. Let me live till I am alive with passion and dignity If not for me For someone who loves me, for whom I am larger than life and relationship. White SOMETHING I LOOK AT-296 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY Your silence is killing me silently I am dying every moment not finding you on my horizon. When the morning breaks, when the sun gives space to the moon I often see you smiling adding grace and beauty to my empty sky. Sometime in the mid-day I see you shining as resplendently as the radiant rays. Sometimes in the early hours of the long night, I see you dazzling like a star in the distant sky Your changing moods add grace to my loneliness. You know, your presence brings a sea of difference and makes me rebelieve in myself I know, your priorities have not changed You are the same innocent girl with dreamy eyes. Grace me with your beautiful smile. I need nothing but your presence to drench my morning sky. A LOOK AT LIFE-153 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY Still thinking about the time the precious time I wasted for nothing. Thinking about them once close to me now nowhere near the horizon. Thinking about my loved ones who took the juice of my life to whom now I mean nothing. Silently brooding over the relationships I cultivated that never stood the test of time. Thinking about the moments I lost to satisfy a few for whom I squandered health, wealth and time who ran away at the first opportunity. Time mocks at me I miserably failed to make sense of it One by one they moved away leaving me to think about time which was once mine. Life laughs at me at my miserable plight the abyss where I am in I often ask me where I erred. "You never valued yourself at any point never cared for the moments that came your way" is the answer of time to my poignant tragedy. A LOOK AT LIFE-145 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY Before you leave Live in your dreams for a while Before you become yesterday Have your day today Before it is all over Have your moments One after the other. How can be death When there is life? Death is nothing but Absence of life Look around It is not death but life everywhere Bubbling with vitality and vivacity You are the lone one silently languishing Make things happen Create your own moments Waiting for these instead Let minutes and hours, count Rather waiting silently For an unceremonious doom Moments of life are more gratifying Than thousands of deaths Live till the very end Let life, not death rule the game Let hope, not despair be the way Let the sun come out From behind the cloudy sky Let us celebrate life Before we die Smruti Ranjan Mohanty ©Smruti Ranjan Mohanty #bicycleride A LOOK AT LIFE-145 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY Before you leave Live in your dreams for a while Before you become yesterday Have
