#ShiftingHomes If you count the number of homes we changed, we can very well fit into the Gypsy clan. Within the city, interstate cities, outside country cities. The latter of course short stay ones. Much like the footloose and fancy free. That does not discount the fact that a part of us stayed behind each home vacated. Leaving our lacquered seal, mixed entirely with memories of different shades. The first home post marriage some 700 sq ft. was furnished with hired furniture from Globe Furnishing Co. an old shop on Ahmed Kidwai, Park Street, Kolkata. Only exception the nuptial double bed purchased from Bowbazar Street. We were happy as larks, entertaining friends, in this home. Tin trunks with durries doubling up as sofa set. Slowly assets started inflating..first fridge, dining set, sofa set and subsequently pink baby cot. Along the way, some got dropped, some retained, bulk of it donated. In our final home on terra firma, everything changed, as change is what is keeping us moving on to our final destination. Photos of parents found places wherever we went.
