85-year-old Jagdish Lal Ahuja, also known as 'Langar Baba', has been feeding 2500+ needy people every day for 19 years now, free of cost. He started this in 1981 in the form of Langars, a practice of free community meals followed in the Sikh religion. It wasn't always easy for him to do this. The now self-made billionaire started earning from the age of 12 by selling things like bananas and candles, among others.

"It was my son's birthday and we were having a party. That day, I somehow felt really bad that while we are having a feast, so many go to bed hungry. So, we made rotis and served to the poor. I then decided to organise a langar everyday," says the Langar Baba. People in long queues wait for the meals which consist of dal, chapatis, rice, halwa and a banana. Besides, snacks are given to cancer patients and toffees, balloons to the children. 😇
