I need your ears, not your cheers. As you may know

I need your ears, not your cheers. As you may know that there has been a million other things that have been happening outside our community and a gazillion more here inside the YQ group of writers. A big shining beacon of awesomeness is the fact that we have got 100k amazing thumbs working on command of 50k beautiful minds on this app and we are flourishing like an ecosystem. The bootstrapped, tumbleweed is now a juggernaut holding simultaneous Open Mic events in multiple cities. A big applause to Harsh, Ashish and the wonderful team that supports these two maniacs.

Coming to the other concerns raised, I see a sense of dissatisfaction arising from the set of featured / non featured writers and subsequent celebs that have been whistled out by newer writers. Recognition has taken centre stage and some other qualities which may matter more in the long run have taken a backseat. To clarify my view on this and paste my entitled opinion here I wrote this small principle I coined above. Maybe the virtues of different writers might go in different direction but the very basic factor (that has worked for me in all earnesty) is the sole purpose I pursue in writing, which is personal development of opinions and satisfaction of expression. In my opinion, you may not need to pursue acceptance if you have honesty in your views and a small pat on the back from anyone who reads and understands can go for miles.

So I urge my readers and anyone else who comes across this rant to pay heed to the key fact, likes and applause do not celebrate your proficiency as a writer, it gives you a sense of acceptance which may not matter at all for you. Conforming to likeable things would slow your evolution and may hamper your style. On the other hand, if you wrote to express, you will impress and improve over time. I will add that I have had my own phases of downtime and delusions that may have hampered my quality but a few good people who share some views with me have helped me handle them in a balanced way.

Maybe I do not have any entitlement to presentation of this view but since I deem this app and it's community as an open minded group of prolific writers I see it valid to still let you know my two cents on it.
