Sharad Utsav (The Biggest Festival Of India)

The beautiful clouds of Ashwin(month) is symbolic of the beginning of the festival of spirituality, devotion and joy. During the nine-days-long festival of worshipping Goddess Durga. The whole City looks beautiful with immense lightning and decoration. On the days of Saptami, Ashtami and Navami, People fast, take Anjali and pray to the Goddess Durga for good health and success. Then they take the Prasad. At night, everyone go out to  visit pandals which remain the attraction. The hour of Maa Durga's departure approach on the last day i.e. Dashami which makes everyone kind of  sad but they bid farewell to Maa with a happy heart. They believe in ‘Ashche bochor abar hobe'. So many rituals such as Shidur Khela where women smear each other with sindur are observed on that day and then end it with Visharjan which is followed by crowd of people, music, dance etc.
