On the days of Saptami, Ashtami and Navami, People fast, take Anjali and pray to the Goddess Durga for good health and success. Then they take the Prasad. At night, everyone go out to visit pandals which remain the attraction. The hour of Maa Durga's departure approach on the last day i.e. Dashami which makes everyone kind of sad but they bid farewell to Maa with a happy heart. They believe in ‘Ashche bochor abar hobe'.
