Water, oh water, you flow and you rush,
From streams to rivers, in a constant hush,
You quench the thirst of all living things,
From birds to plants, and all that brings.
But still, you thirst, for more to drink,
From deep within the earth, your roots to sink,
To rise up high, into the sky,
And form the clouds, that pass us by.
You fall to earth, in drops of rain,
To nourish crops, and ease our pain,
You fill our lakes, and feed our seas,
And yet, you crave for more, like a disease.
Oh water, how thirsty you are,
You seek to quench your own desire,
You flow and rush, with great fervor,
And yet, your thirst, will never waver.
For as long as the earth shall stand,
You'll seek to quench your own demand,
You'll flow and rush, and fill our need,
But still, you'll thirst, like a plant and seed.
You quench our thirst, you keep us alive,
Without you, the world could not survive,
From rain to rivers, from streams to the sea,
You are the essence of life, the key.
But as you flow, you also thirst,
For clean, clear waters, you always search,
Pollution and waste, a constant threat,
To the purity and beauty you once met.
Oh water, may we treat you with care,
May we cherish and protect you, everywhere,
For without you, our world would be still,
A barren wasteland, without life, without thrill.
