THE MIDNIGHT MOON It was a late beautiful evening In the early fall... Pale brown leaves bid farewell To the deciduous trees! The stars shown sparingly, The sea of clouds were dark and dreary! The wolves began to houl, The sight seemed dreadful! DEATH OF LAST HUMAN It was the late December night, Laying on an old church bench. Leaves bade adiue for the day, And their green seemed ghosty! At the hill's edge, There was a long night moon, The cold moon! Young, vibrant and sprouting! Hours drowned beneath the puddle, Every diving fish reminded me of those cold fishes, Heartless, unkind, callous cold fishes! One foot away from the grave, I could say it now!
