They don't want to be seen
Afraid of something perhaps
That arrives quick and unforeseen

I challenge them to be men
Put your money where your...
Same old song and dance
You're regular and a bore

Step up and show yourself
Shut up or back it up I say
Slime is above you I think
Even the dirt will not play

If you ask me you're slow
Molasses in January is quicker
You're denser than a sack full
Of hammers , you need a sticker

Bottom line is that you lost
End of discussion , no debate
Talk to the hand and I repeat
You're tardy again now you're late

After 2 am

Sitting outside after two in the morning
Creepy crawlies move in the grass around
A truck drives by with brakes squealing
I wonder if inside can he hear that sound?

The night is calm and relaxing out here
A few hums from fans and things spinning
The moon was out earlier , I took a picture
I will say goodbye here , nature is calling

The one that reads you a story before bed
The one that comforts you during a storm

And kisses your forehead

The one that sang to you at night
The one that teaches you right from wrong
The one that drives you up to the mall

Being gone to school so long

The one that cooks all your meals
The one that cleans up after your mess
The one that sews your ripped jeans

She always gives her best

Dear Mother , up in heaven
We miss you here very much
We know you are watching over us
We all miss your loving touch

Mother's day is tomorrow
It's not the same any more
Without your voice around now
Our hearts have all been tore

Dear Mother , now gone away
We love you deeply forever
We cherish our memories of you
You will always be remembered

This. cat

There is this cat named Midnight
He is a completely black kitty
Except for the patch of white
That's on his chest that's pretty

He loves to sit quietly on your lap
Just rests and relaxes very calm
After ten minutes he wants a nap
He will leave for his bed that's warm

One day I tried putting him on a leash
To sit outside with me for fresh air
He learned quick what I tried to teach
So very mellow and did not care

We had birds and chipmunks visit
A toad that came out late at night
Raccoons often stopped for a bit
I would give them all snacks to bite

Midnight is a special feline pet
He loved his treats and his catnip
Such a lovable and gentle creature
I will forever cherish our friendship

An amazing canine

My dog was amazing
From his early years
Right until his last days
I still remember him clear

He waited patiently all day
Until I returned from work
He was the best friend ever
Seeing him happy was my perk

He loved his frisbee alot
Lots of tennis balls he enjoyed
Chewing them to nothing
Happiness in his eyes gave me joy

Long walks I looked forward to
Spending time together was invaluable
Swimming in the lake in summer
Getting him out was almost impossible

Years have passed since he left
This dog I have never replaced
He was the best dog ever
To this day I am still amazed
