The spring

so many faces i see
have just vanished
but some have remained in a corridor somewhere
deep into the crevices of my heart
buried but not forgotten

sometimes they randomly come up
into my thoughts
i frown because they are not longer with me
and then smile about the times spent together
and the vast time that has passed
seems like just yesterday

people change like seasons
and you have no hold on that
you can't keep away the winter
but that doesn't either stop
the spring from coming....

what's called life

Life isn't about the fairy tales
or about all the happy endings
all the bad to good
and the hurt to heal

it isn't a cakewalk atleast
nor a three hour inspirational movie
which ends always with glory
its excruciatingly painful
and often disappointing

but we rise after each fall
thats for sure
because we don't have any other option

but to rise
to fight another day
to prevail over desperate circumstances
to triumph against all odds
and to live what's called life....

a thousand wishes wished
and set out to fulfill them
the path wasn't friendly
and the track got lost many times

destination far across
and the journey unsurmountable
at times the path sympathetic
most times ugly and unapologetic

had left for the destination
and turning back was improbable
moving forward looked bleak
and success every time had a leak

never a soft word nor got a helping hand
but some fingers sometimes nurtured my land
and pushed me against the waves
blowing life out from the graves

all the if's and the but's
how could it and why didn't it ??
life's like that as i wrap this up
unfathomable and unkind.... #unkind

Gratitude

sitting on a comfortable couch
and sipping on some coffee
night quietly laying its essence
with the day fading out slowly
its been quite a while
as these scenes infront of me
inspired me to write down something
colourful flags flowing in the gentle breeze
a train marching towards a destination
few vehicles plying to and fro
while i sit besides a window pane
watching the flow
called life
which goes on
days turning into months
years to decades to centuries
and what counts is time
you spent
pondering
wondering
thinking
and feeling
and gratitude....!!

All you need

Love is all you need
in a world full of lust and greed
where everyone seems blindfolded
trust your instincts to avoid
from getting moulded

You think you are smart
or presumably on the right path
staunch on your stance
won't spare you a second chance

Its all or nothing down the road
half lovers and people on envy mode
and love still is all you need
whilst you find the deserving creed....

Her smile
like the river Nile
deep and spread over a mile
i stood still for a while
till these pearls made a pile

extinguishing all thats vile
i compiled all of them in a file
vibrant as flowers of chamomile
preserving it from eyes quite hostile

Oh! this wealth
power and possessions
higher ranks and myriad obsessions
Get them
Lose them
and get them again
and lose them again

Crave for love instead
Love that's neither admixed nor malicious
Love that is puerile and pure
not give and take
or only for the namesake

Love that is for real
that is precious
that is priceless....

Pearl and the pebbles.

Related but never close to the heart
together but miles apart
smiles all over
but inside a raging fire
of unknown animosity

One thinks.is life like that?
of illusions, delusions and hallucinations
stitched together
with looming infatuations

Time diffuses in you like an aroma essence
and invokes your senses
and so you begin to find
few pearls among pebbles

Then why you keep the pebbles for so long?
why you wear yourself down
and anguish
for the pebbles...
when a pearl is all you need....

The drifting boat

a silent calm prevails
life seems to drift
like an abandoned boat
on a lake with crystal clear water
everything visible
with no haze of time present
no urgency
no haste
to reach the destination
the boat drifting slowly on the waters
absorbing the colors of the sun
reflecting the vision of future
dissipating the darkness of the past
and
its just silence with calm and a drifting boat.

welcome back !!

so the intense exams are over
and i sit down to scribble some lines
words which i treasure, which free my soul
to soar in the crimson sky
of the befalling dusk

i sit down to ponder
of times which fly like an eagle
till it goes beyond my sight
not visible anymore
gone into the unknown bewilderness

i sit down to reflect
of relations made and fade
time that tells what is pure gold
from the ones who go unsold
and i heard the words whisper
