Family and friends

For all my family and friends
You guys are just the best
For all the good times we had
You're great and nothing less

We talk and chat laugh
Together have the best times
Friendly sarcastic jokes
Good humour is no crime

We have had problems
And we figured them out
Forgiving and forgetting
That's what it's all about

Situations change once in awhile
Things once done together
May not be the best anymore
Perhaps things better to sever

Maybe a new addition to the family
Maybe a new job prevents time
All our partying and drinking
Together might not be wise

When we do have a chance
And schedules provide a break
I treasure connecting with them

Lost

Years ago I had said
Never would I stray

It was like theft

And then I cried
I lost my way

Unsplash What once was , is no more In just a few days it will be Christmas But it doesn't seem right without you Seeing you on the morning of presents Not having you here is something new Dinner is so tiring and inanimate now Yes there's turkey and stuffing and pie But if you're not here then it's bland I know I'm supposed to feel happy , but why? All the Christmas specials on television Remind me of days when we'd watch together Having you around made it more joyous But since you're not here then it's just - whatever!!
