Thanks and gratitude to Prof Dr Rajendra Padhi and Professor Mohan Patnaik, eminent poets and literary critics for their wonderful words of appreciation

Prof Rajendra Padhi

You have the gift of a genuine poet, the simplicity of expression is the vehicle to carry genuine and true feelings which you are bestowed with. The introspective nature of writing speaks a look at life and into its myriad mysteries. The diction is simple and the look at life is always in its most natural perception. To write poetry with out obscure images and phraseology is the art of a true poet. You are one and Alby Raymond Parackal is another who are very true in their words and of my great adoration. The use of images with proper analogy , the proper sequencing of lines, the harmony between feelings and words is the beauty of your poem.

Prof Mohan Patnaik

You are a poet with a difference. Your simplicity of diction, wonderful exposition of thought, spontaneity of feelings and the uploading of beautiful images help your poems make a soft landing in the mind of your readers. As in others here too you have attempted a subject that others tend to ignore for controversy. Birth is a celebration whereas Death is a validication. You have chosen to celebrate Death for being a panacea for living ills and affliction. You have seen what lies beyond death. It may be a means to an end;but never an end in itself. It is here unlike other poets, you sound to be different. For you Death seems to be a connective link to another life. Death stands in between the life spent and a life awaiting . You have dealt with all sufferings a man in life undergoes and how all these make life miserable and suffocating. In discussing life of all its pangs and frailties you prepare man to face death with a touch of indifference. The aching fear, and endless turmoils within the mind while living ends with death. You seem to have gone a step forward consoling the man in death that his turmoils and turbulences only ended, but not his life. Death is not a terminator but a guide with a human face. Man is like a passenger who boards a train here and gets down somewhere to board another to reach his destination. Death as such is like a connective train that helps man to undertake the other journey stretching heavenward. Great presentation sir

A LOOK AT LIFE-24
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

A look at life is incomplete
Without a look at death
A peep into its mystery
It's science
Language and chemistry

No doubt
Life is beautiful
But death is still more beautiful
More enchanting more bewitching
For it makes life full and
Gives once more a chance
To look at life and go ahead
In the path of eternity

If life is a feast
Death is sheer poetry
An artist's dream
Who makes an art of life
If life is a sojourn
Death is a station
Where one gets down
Look at himself and
Prepares for the journey
Anew and afresh
To have a go at the destination
Ultimate and inevitable

The beauty of life
Lies in a beautiful death
Which puts an end
To those toiling days
Agonising nights
The predicaments and contradictions
The unfulfilled desires
The negative emotions
Acquisitive instincts
Unrealised dreams and broken hearts
Which hunt one all along
And death makes the beast of burden
A man once again

But
One has to prepare for it
The way one plans and prepares
To live a life
The art of dying is more difficult
Then the craft of living
Living requires involvement
Engrossment and a deep sense of attachment
While dyeing needs nothing
Only one has to look back
And analyse the life
He has lived
The relationship
He shared over the years
One has to dive deep into life
To understand
The futility and fragility
Of human relationship
And its obvious limitations
Bound by
Time-space and causation

A look into life
Unbiased and unprejudiced
Will show the way
And put an end to all cravings
And will prepare the mind and body
To embrace the beauty of life
With Ease
And a smile on lips

Here is the review and critical appreciation of my poem A LOOK AT LIFE-43 by non-other than eminent poet and literary critic of international repute Prof Cijo Joseph Chennelil. Thanks and gratitude sir. I am greatly honoured

Dear Smruti Ranjaniji,

Your poem titled"A Look At Life-43" is a poem that combines philosophy, theology, science and psychology in equal measure. Life is an interminable circle passing from one state of being to another state of being, it doesn't have an end unless and until it is reunited with the fundamental point of origin. The world came forth from that inexhaustible arena and it would revert back to it as such in the course of time. Here on this earth life is an unending journey, the destination is not clearly marked at in any stretch of the imagination, the things that we come across in this world are transitory and fleeting in nature and nothing is a permanent feature of life. The structures and wonders of the world are subjected to change once the novelties are worn off. It is imperative to state here that everything undergoes drastic and dramatic transfiguration and transformation as the world moves on. The transparent nature of the world is presented here in all splendour and vitality. The universe is a miniscule entity compared to the larger realities in store us out there in our permanent residence called heaven. In fact, while living in this world we go through illusions of an enormous kind and the sorry thing is that we don't realise about it as long as we live in this world, we are mesmerised by the beauties of this world, we in fact run after money, wealth, power and positions and in the process of doing so we loose our souls to the use and throw culture and commercialisation. At the end all these exposures to worldly pleasures, we become a bundle of sorrows and worries. Even then we don't learn lessons from our past, we continue to commit the same mistakes again and again. While living in this world we claim that we are something and we are proud of our intellect and other faculties, but the truth is that we all come from the paramount body of a common truth and ultimately we are absorbed into that greater power.Kudos to you Smruti Ranjaniji for composing such a poem of transcendentalistic nature.

A LOOK AT LIFE - 43
BY- SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

Infinite is the mind and intellect
that conceive the idea of Infinity
Infinite is our love and passion to be one with it, from infinity we have come
in infinity, we will merge

Life is a journey from full to full
from Infinity to Infinity
whatever exist, existed earlier, will exist in future, nothing can be created out of nothing nothing can be annihilated without giving rise to something, neither there is any beginning nor end, only transformation from one form to other

Expansion and contraction of
the cosmic universe is the only reality
a drop of water in the ocean and ocean in a drop of water, all the same

Out of ignorance, we come under the spell of cosmic illusion, forget our real nature,
Truth, Bliss and Absolute
identify ourselves with the body, its pleasure and pain and land us in a pool of sorrow
again and again

We are neither the body nor mind and intellect
we are not different but one, the manifestation of Infinity having no birth and death
only transformation from one form to the other
with the cosmic consciousness remaining unaffected by the change of form and colour
