Diminutive waves, of the steadfast river, Calming the thrumming of her heart; Water, lapping her soul, Into rapturous oblivion; Luna, accentuating her solitude; Birds, chirping plaintive songs, In the background; Her, inveigling herself to be patient. The egregious forest laughs, Gleefuly, behind him; As he looks on, at the girl, in front of him. She awaits the prince, who said he'll be back. They're in the deepest dregs of night-- She doesn't know that the boy, Who vowed to arrive, Has been delayed and waylaid By life's more interesting facets, Along the pathway.
