Too afraid to paint my reality, What if my sketches show too much? Or what if they show too less, And then are deemed fake By the pen of the critic? Yes, the pen I often hold, As I describe the frailties of others. But the pen falls short, As I try to write my own words. What if my words are criticized, Of lacking luster and warmth?
