Your customer don't exactly know what they want. They will ask you for an apple and will complain why is it red or even green for that matters. They don't know what will yield right results. You have to guide them. For that you have to know things. They will want certain thing which they won't realize comes at a cost of something else and then they will be unsatisfied. They will fall in love with that one extra fabulous feature of your product ignoring everything else and will later complain that other features are not upto the mark as the first one. They make purchase decision focusing on one feature and expect everything else to fall in place. It is your duty to tell them what will work and what will not. Because tomorrow if you fail to make things work or provide quality you cannot blame it on the client that it is because they chose it this way. You are expendable. There is always another option for them. No client will say that yes the quality is poor because I made a bad choice or because I had a low budget. They will blame you and that will keep spoiling your entire reputation. Tell them if they are wrong.
