I've gone past that juncture Where I'd have desired To be relished and adored. All I crave for, nowadays, Is to be left alone, in peace. Yet, in the silence of midnight, When the jeers of spectres Are at their blustery peak, I yearn to have someone Who wouldn't want to use me; But, who'd still cuddle me 'Til I plunge, gratefully, Into stupefying sleep.
