खोता कुछ भी नहीं यहाँ पर, केवल जिल्द बदलती पोथी, जैसे रात उतार चाँदनी, पहने सुबह धूप की धोती ।                        --- गोपालदास नीरज भावार्थ - मानव शरीर समय के साथ ढल जाता है, लेकिन आत्मा हमेशा के लिए अमर रहती है।  इसलिए कवि यहाँ कहते हैं कि जैसे हम अपने पुस्तकों के जिल्द (कवर) को पुराने होने पर एक नए जिल्द से बदल डालते हैं, ठीक वैसे ही जब हमारा शरीर कमजोर हो जाता है तो हमारी आत्मा हमारे शरीर को बदल देती है। हमें इस शाश्वत प्रक्रिया से बिल्कुल निराश होने की आवश्यकता नहीं है क्योंकि यही मूलतः जीवन का सिद्धांत है। Abstract - The human body gets depleted over time, but the soul remains immortal forever.  That's why the poet says here that just as we replace the cover of our books with a new cover when we get old, similarly our soul replaces the body when our body becomes weak.  There is absolutely no need to be disheartened by this eternal process because it is basically the principle of life.
