She tried her best to be a part of his inner circle, but he kept pushing away, saying “ you don’t deserve to be here. These are my friends and you are nothing more than just an acquaintance to me” No matter what you do for someone, cross boundaries, walk an extra mile, move out of your comfort zone just to make them happy.. because you do care..even if you are nothing but just an acquaintance for them..but they just won’t acknowledge your efforts. For them, acquaintances have a different place , that they aren’t real, moreover do not belong to your real world , and in this era of social media, there is hardly anyone who would want to be a part of your real life. Texting/calling/meetings are just a part of socialising but when it comes to friendships, they hesitate. Hesitate to hold your hand and walk in the crowd and call you their ‘friend’ in front of their “real life” friends,hesitate to even trust you enough to give you a chance to be their friend. They laugh with you, crack silly jokes, discuss about life, sometimes even become emotionally vulnerable and pour out their heart,but no! They will never be able to accept you as a friend. Given the reason , that it’s easier to talk to someone you don’t really know, there is no fear of judgements, it hardly matters to them if you are a part of their life or not,and that they can cut you off from their life at any given time.
