माता सुमित्रा जी, लक्ष्मण जी से कहती है, " पुत्रवती जुवती जग सोई। रघुपति भगत जासु सुत होइ ।। " अथार्थ ~ संसार में पुत्रवती तो केवल वह नारी है, जिसका पुत्र श्रीराम का भक्त हो । रामायण का अंश राम वनगमन के वक़्त, जब लक्षमण जी ने माता सुमित्रा से आज्ञा मांगी, श्रीराम जी के कहने पर । श्री लक्ष्मण में राम भक्त का संचार, उनके बाल्यकाल मे ही माता सुमित्रा जी ने कर दिया था । उन्होंने , श्रीराम को लक्षमण का पिता और माता सीता को लक्ष्मण की माता बताया। और बताया ... श्री राम भी यह अयोध्या तुम्हारे लिए कुछ भी नहीं।
