Why does Karan Johar make stupid movies?
Ha, ha, ha
Yeah, he makes dumb movie becuase some of us don't have the option to watch anything better that is not glorification of conservative mindset or religious morality lesson :D
Ha, ha, too mean??
Sorry, let's face the uncomfortable truth, there's an audience for it
Because we pushed ourselves into this corner
You don't get it?
Let me explain-
You know Students of the year
Yep, that special movie
I couldn’t stop laughing while watching it
But seriously, do you know what is the problem?
Yeah, here it's get little tricky
The easiest solution for Karan Johar would be to copy a Hollywood movie
But he can't do that perfectly since CBFC(sex and nudity) won't allow it to happen as I mentioned before
The thing is Rohan (from Students of the year) is supposed to be a poor man from places like California not from India :D
Where you definitely have the looks even if you don't have money, education or job
This is rich world scenario
Imagine a guy who is probably a bartender in one of those beaches in Miami
Now your parents were rich
Now after becoming 18, you are living out of there
You are now living here in Miami
This Rohan is supposed to be an impression of that individual who is poor because he isn't earning anything now :D
This is why he doesn't look bad inspite of being 'poor' :D
What makes this even more ridiculous that it's in Indian context :D
Where the word ‘sex’ is even taboo :D
If you know what I am talking about then ask yourself how many couple in India is even having sex :D
Yeah, we all know sex is not even 8th or 9th priority in most Indian marriage :D
Now imagine how ridiculous this type of bollywood movie sounds compared to all this :D
This is actually not Karan Johar or bollywood's problem
This is actually our problem
See obviously we like this sort of movies
Or there is certain demand of it
Otherwise they would not have made this multiple times in Bollywood(for example Race, Dostana etc)
It doesn't matter who wants to watch it
The thing we have this weird tendency now because us being a conservative society, we secretly or not so secretly want to be sexually liberal but we don't know how without pissing off the older generation as they control everything in India and they will feel tremendously insecured because of this
As a result we are confused and have to be satisfied watching this half baked half cooked idiotic unrealistic westernised copy material
See this would never happen if we allowed ourselves to be sexually liberal in the first place but India is basically religion centre of the world, we remained this religious morality centred civilization as a result we are now going through this weird , ridiculous phase
If you want real interesting story then our society first must get out of our comfort zone in order to become sexually liberal in the real sense and not afraid to face everything that reality offers
Then you will see very very real movies which you can identify with(not like those sad, depressing festival movies) and entertaining movies which is not like western Hollywood movies but entertaining and very India centric and aspiring and progressive (not just lecture wise and definitely involving sex not hiding behind it)
Then the question is do we want to have that now?
The answer is no
Unless our young generation take over the power from older generation and replace everything with mordern ideas and get rid of all the insecurities I am afraid we will keep seeing this bullshit again and again
What is your opinion on Virat Kohli's reaction to fan's tweet saying he likes foreign players better?
I absolutely support Virat Kohli on this.
That guy was a troll and he got what he deserved
Frankly I thought Virat Kohli was very nice specially being an Indian captain.
Not just that the guy was idiot and delusional but his comments were racist (‘these Indians') as well.
First of all, India isn't a country made of people from other contintents like America which is basically made of Europeans.
This is not a country made of immigration where after Hitler phobia, it's cool to bash or discredit by thinking it is cool to bash nationalism or patriotism.
You have personal choice whether to like some players or not but if you have the freedom of speech to say this kind of things then you can't complain if someone else return you with the same treatment.
Being Indian captain has nothing to do with this.
This is the age of social media.
This is not the era of gentleman which was created by British manipulation by the way which they themselves reject now (irony anyone!!!)
And some people in India are singing the same old song tought by the British (:D)
It's absolutely ridiculous.
Personally, I never liked this Harsha Bhogle fellow.
I mean what does he think he is?
He neither a cricketer nor anything
Just a commentator by having sheer luck in some times in the past.
So it doesn't matter what he says
Let me tell you one thing here which might surprise a lot of people here, Harsha isn't popular among majority of Indian cricket fans in India.
Yep, that's right.
This is not the first time he has taken a position regarding on a matter that has certain political hint on it.
He is always available for comment in NDTV which everyone knows what kind of channel.
Even in Kashmir controversy before he took a position that indirectly was against India's interest and in line with NDTV's propaganda.
He is the guy who is also known for his Mumbai biased commentary as well.
He is one of those notorious Mumbai lobby commentator.
So I am not surprised that he said such thing about Virat Kohli as well.
Virat Kohli does not live in a bubble.
He isn't a rich bubble wrap guy.
Infact anyone who knows him will tell you that he is one of the most realistic and rational thinking invidual going around in whole India.
Have anyone listened to any interview of Virat Kohli?
Does he sound like some rich clueless nutjob like Rahul Gandhi?
He is within his right to reply
He is absolutely right when he said that if that guy didn't like Indian cricketers only like foreign cricketers then he should live in those countries.
This is a very normal comment.
This is also a reality check for that delusional idiot individual who was basically a troll.
My respect for Virat Kohli has increased even more after this incident.
Personally, I never liked this old fashioned attitude of Indians who are supposed to be defensive and nice and politically correct even when the other person is completely wrong.
Thank God we are living in a more politically incorrect era where you don't have to be nice all the time.
Thank God for social media.
Thank God that Virat represent this new fearless Indians who doesn't take a backseat even if it looks somewhat ugly to those old fashioned insecured politically correct Indians.
They can go to hell.
Do Americans hate Indians?
Yes and no at the same time.
Look Americans don't know much about us to have any kind of positive or negetive feelings.
But some of them do
I think Americans have certain perception about Indians and what they(Indians) are supposed to be. So when their expectations gets derailed by the reality, it is very hard for them to accept that.
The name 'Indian' is itself is a big ticking point with Indians and Americans. Americans are obviously king of ignorance so they would say things like - “How the hell Indians exist in Asia?”. When their 'Red Indians' were actually named after us by Columbus by thinking mistakenly that he has come to India when it was actually prenamed american land. Obviously many Americans don't care about this. It is probably too complicated for them.
And stereotyping !!!!! Let me tell you Indians hate nothing more than stereotyping. There's plenty of existence of that in mainstream America. So obviously Indian reaction might be found rude by certain Americans.
Americans believe in exceptionalism but we don't give a shit about that. Another ticking point.
With due respect to Africans and others, but at one point of time in history, we were no 1 civilization in the world or very close to it. But as it happens with everything, we messed it up. Then colonialism happened. But our pride and arrogance never went away. So Americans find it strange and funny to see Indians being very arrogant. Another ticking point.
Racist comments and other stuff like that could be very big ticking point.
Americans find Indian so called tight neck and money driven which kind of hard for them to digest as Indians can be very differently arrogant from Americans, this put Americans off further. It is interesting to see though if americans came from similar sort of background or past like Indians, they might have behaved exactly like us but expecting that to understand by the Americans probably asking too much.
Americans may find certain behaviours of Indians or custom too exotic for them hence it might put them off further.
Foods are amazingly could be another ticking point as Americans and Europeans could find Indian food too smelly for them. It also kind comes from unfamiliarity and fear of unknown which is why they could get freaked out by Indian foods, they find all sorts of things - like weird smell from Indians which could be another ticking point.
From India's point of view, we want to get rich because we are not a rich Country. People wants desperately something that they don't have, in the case of India, it is more so as we were doing pretty fine in the past, so we desperately want to rise to that height. This is another reason why Indian american and Canadian americans are rich. This could also put off many Americans.
Most of all, like any other people, Indians also have plenty of faults so other might get pissed off because of that too.
But things look different when one civilization have money:D
