I set my imagination rolling. This time I let it go really wild. I looked outa the window and watched the harsh sun beating down on the city. I looked up and thanked the sun for its absence at night. Hey, what if the sun never set? How would it be? My imagination was happy to be allowed a run today. C'mon, it said.
I found myself in a city where the sun never set. Initially I enjoyed the light. Most importantly, I lost my fear of ghosts. I would draw the curtains and sleep blissfully alone whenever I felt sleepy. I soon took up a job in a call centre. Ah! No night shifts. Our city never had nights, na? I was beaming. This seemed good. I sent a flying kiss to the sun. The sun sent me sweat no thx to the intense humidity and I unfailingly cursed it under my breath. My shadow seemed to enjoy my discomfiture. I wanted to murder it. It was now one month since I had come here and I started feeling the heat. My skin had darkened so much that when I looked into the mirror and smiled, my white teeth against my black frame gave me a ghostly appearance. I almost screamed.
