Every time the shadow of that tree fell on me, I used to look right out of the window. But every time, I felt those shadows didn't look like the branches of that tree at all. And one day, I realized that the shadows that fell on me were not of the branches but were of the roots. That's when I looked down the window, instead of just looking out of it. That's when the light that had waited for me all this time to understand what the shadows meant, pierced through my chest and pulled me in. That's when the shadow that tree was casting on me seized.
