Those who wield it with a steady hand, May use it to improve their land, To help their people and create change, To make the world a better range. But there are those who crave control, Who see power as a way to extol, Their own agendas, their own desires, And in doing so, they set off fires. They manipulate and intimidate, Use fear and force to dominate, And when they have what they crave, They hold on tight and refuse to waive. The vulnerable suffer at their hand, As they exploit, oppress and demand, And in their wake, they leave destruction, A trail of pain, chaos and corruption.
