I knew a bird and I helped it escape its cage. Fearing that someone would try to put it back in there, I destroyed the cage as soon as it flew out. But after some moments, it began searching for that cage again and it flew for years searching for it. Eventually, it's wings grew weak, it lost all its feathers and it died looking into my eyes.
