ছেলে ঘুমালো, পাড়া জুড়ালো বর্গী এল দেশে বুলবুলিতে ধান খেয়েছে খাজনা দেব কিসে।। ধান ফুরল, পান ফুরল খাজনার উপায় কি? আর ক’টা দিন সবুর কর রসুন বুনেছি।। ধনিয়া পিয়াজ গেছে পচে সর্ষে ক্ষেতে জল খরা-বন্যায় শেষ করিল বর্ষ এর ফসল। ধানের গোলা, চালের ঝুড়ি সব শুধু খালি ছিন্ন কাপড় জড়িয়ে গায়ে শত শত তালি ধানের গাছ, বিলের মাছ যাই কিছু ছিল নদীর টানে বাঁধটি ভেঙ্গে সবই ভেসে গেল। এ বারেতে পাঁচ গাঁয়েতে দিয়েছি আলুর সার আর কটা দিন সবুর করো মশাই জমিদার। Old poem

the old woman has finished sweeping the yard. she feels satisfied with how everything was handled today. the last of her sons have left; as the needed family reunion, finally, came to an end. she can have her first quiet moment of the day. how peaceful it is, she thinks; to be able to simply sit down and enjoy her solitude; to BREATHE the clean air, culled of the raucous banter of her children and grandkids. it isn't that they irritate her, she loves them; but their liveliness can be so tiring to her old bones and her aged heart. peace is a welcome commodity; a reward from the long years of being a mother, a wife, a daughter. at this old age of seventy, she has, finally, been given a time to think of herself, as well; a time of freedom from the shackles of womanly duties imposed by society. old woman. #breathe #wordoftheday #her #yopowrimo #yqbaba
