My first flight Hatching from the egg, Eyes closed, large head, tiny feathers, Mama fed me, papa guarded the nest, Siblings crowded made me warm. Eyes opened slowly, feathers grew, Still a fledgling, Mama fed me, How long to be fed by her, Instinct in my genes pushed me. Hopped on the edge of my nest, Spread and flapped my wings, Fear gripped , Instinct prevailed, A jump and I was airborne. I know not how I learned to fly, Reflex, Instinct, traits or a hidden force. #birds #flight #firstflight #fledgling #feathers
