May be on some other day Where the calender holds a red scar, I will see you again on some other street As you defend some other surname; In some other poet's prose. I hope the day is cloudy, And rain pours on both of us- But may be the wind will blow North of you, south of me- Flying from the shattered canvas. I will stare at you, you will look at me, And I will fill another page with how things used to be. And we will both build cities-- On two different poles of this globe; As you spend your evening in summer breeze, I will hibernate in my winter clothes. The ink of my pen stumbles My flute plays a sad tune. May be I will not look back As you pass through my town. You will be telling your stories And I will be telling mine. May be both of the listener of you and me Conclude the ending to be fine. A disease to please robbed me of my peace. Always sought validation, met all their expectations. Neglected my well-being while I was busy pleasing. Cheated on my own body while I charmed everybody. Attended every party, sipped all of the Barcadi’s. Inhaled some potent chronic, I forgot who I was. I’ve lived most of my life with a chronic disease. I cannot afford to please.
