वक्त की हर शितम का एहसास अभी बाक़ी है .. संभाले रखा है जो कितनों के आबरू ..वो रंग अब भी ख़ाखी है.. इश्क़ कर लेने को तो कर लेते है अब लोग पल दो पल के लिए .. ज़िंदादिल की इबादत का हर लफ्ज़ अब तो बस साकी है .. सोचता हूं कि कैसे खीझ जाना ही मेरी तबाही का तर्क मुमकिन हुआ .. तेरा भी तो गुस्सा ..टूट जाने को जंग ए पलासी सा कोई जफ्फर की बद्दुआ.. मेरे पीठ पर खंजर घोप कर तू देता है दुहाई अब मेरे इंसाफ की.. नमाकुल क्या तेरी शामत पास थी अाई ...या अंग्रेज़ो संग भाग गई तेरी कोई बुआ.. बेशर्म बदहवास बेइज्जत शौक़ से नाम देते जाओ हमको.. हमने किसी भी कमसिन मोहतरमा को कब आंखों से भी छुआ? करते है इंतज़ार उस हसीन मंज़र का अब हम भी .. जिस पल खुद मेरे खुदा को मुझसे भी इश्क़ सच्चा सा हुआ.. अब ना रंज है ना सिराज सी कोई मदहोशी ही हमपे .. हमने खुद अपने वतन के गुनहगार को अपना वजीर था चुना.. इसलिए तो कहता है बंगाल आज भी बिखर कर टुकड़ों में बंटा.. ज़ुल्म परायो को कब था मूझपर..मेरे सीने को गोलियों से अपनों ने भूना..
