Peculiarly swirling beneath my decrepit spine, Is an enervated heart that endeavors to be alive; One minuscule rock that fully concerns itself With feeble attempts to bang like a drum-- Even when it fails to subjugate itself, most times. Another eccentric, diminutive cretin Inhabits my doltish little head-- They label it, offhandedly, as the brain; Albeit, it must be freakishly dead, I think. Although, these two creatures cannot even opt To hearken to the insistent melodies That inanely unravel from my imbecilic mouth. My vapid soul can't even deduce who to believe; For, both these horrendous demons don't even agree-- One proclaims, "Go ahead! Cut his off head!" Whilst the other declares, "No! Halt just yet!"-- And my poorly demented self merely goes numb. Hence, here I stand, In the midst of a grating, incongruous battle Between two lumps of myself-- Whilst wraiths and leprechauns, alike, Attempt to dissuade me from this tedious test.
