Ashtray has given him nerve to fight fear, anxiety, loss and depression.
It was also the same thing that took away his breath.
At the end it returned him everything he gave him "Ash". #ash

राखदानी में राख की ढेरी के बीच दबे सिगरेटों के अवशेष इस बात के परिचायक हैं कि हम अपनी ही बनाई उलझनों में फँसे रहते हैं। Ashtray #vks #yqbaba #yqdidi #yqhindi #yqmuzaffarpur #yqgudiya

About two-third of life in the ashtray, don't know what to do with the rest. With time flying by, in no time making my present a part of the past, me doing nothing except adding to my worthless life some meaningless moments, days and nights and silently watching one more life going in vain.

There is much more loneliness
in my poems
than the drunken boy
sitting in the bar.
I speak of solitary
And he named himself " Bukoswi"
reciting how his mother
told him to "be happy"
So he chose to drink.

I wrote about the burning flames
and he smoked out his happiness
collecting in the ashtray
each time, he laughed.

This time I took the pen
to absorb the pain
of the girl
sitting next to her
holding his hand
but he rejected her touch every time
and ran out of breathes
as if trying to consume her beauty
in his happiness
and reminding himself
of his mother's words,
"be happy".

SOMETHING I LOOK AT-5
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

Life is spent
in dreaming and dreaming,
only a few being realised
making life a pathetic reality.

Life is not shattered dreams,
lost love, unforgotten past and deep melancholy.

We miss life
We miss those moments,
the tiny loves and small gestures

We miss those things,
seemingly insignificant,
the smile on a child's lips.
his trifling demands and naughty looks

Life unfolds itself.
Sun shines, the river flows,
flower blossoms.
Life manifests its beauty.

We do not see it
We have a pair of jaundiced eyes,
which only mirrors our self,
our agony and apathy

Life is not shattered dreams,
battered past,
romantic nihilism, or
a burnt cigarette in the ashtray

Life is complete,
each moment of which,
to be lived and relished.

A LOOK AT LIFE- 162
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

Wasted past
Uneventful present
Future in the dark
With trembling mind and body,
my legs in the abyss once again.
Once more I am on my ashes
witnessing life in the ashtray

The moment never came
I deceived myself all along
Time flew away
With it flew away the urge
For which I come again and again

I accomplished nothing
except for relationships,
pelf, power and recognition,
that faded like the fading colours of life.
Time consumed everything I thought my own
except for my regrets,
one more opportunity went in begging

Time consumed the best part of life
My childhood and youth
In return, it gave me nothing
but an ounce of external glitter
Which is so heavy on my shoulder,
something I can not live with,
something I can not carry to the other side

A LOOK AT LIFE-73

      TIME SPARES NONE

Forget not!
Time spares none
Neither it has spared me
Nor it will spare you
You may have to go through
The same process
Now I am going through
The same old age
Helplessness and compulsion.
Not that easy
To keep oneself in another's situation
And experience his predicament
And pangs of sorrow

One hardly feels
In between youth and old age
How time flies
I could not feel it
You may not
It seems
As if it was yesterday
When I was in my teens
In the full bloom of youth
When you were in your mother's lap
In one fine morning
I woke up
To find myself old and unwanted
In the ashtray
Burning my last wishes into ashes
Like a leftover cigarette
With nothing to look forward
I am looking back
To the glorious days of past
Help me to bear my present
To carry me to a dignified end

Take care of yourself
Take care of your attitude
Before it is too late
Before it becomes the cause of
Someone's grief and agony.
Before you make a hell of someone's life
Never forget you have yours to live
Who knows your undoing may
Chase you all along and
Return back with renewed vigour?
