मैं एक नन्ही सी जान थी जब कोई मुझे यहां छोड़ गया था तब से मेरा नाम कहीं गुम सा गया था मेरी पहचान कहीं खो सी गई थी बस एक नाम जो सब बोलते थे एक वेश्या ना कोई कदर, ना कोई पहचान, ना कोई इज्जत बस यहीं बन गई थी मेरी ज़िंदगी रात को जिस्म का कारोबार करते हैं सिक्कों की खनक पर एहसासों को नीलाम करती हूं किसी को मेरी बेबसी नहीं दिखती पर उन जालिमों के बिस्तर पर करवट बदलती हूं मुझे कौन और कैसे मारेगा जो खुद रोज मरती है जिंदा होकर भी चलती फिरती लाश बन कर रह जाती हूं वो सिसकियां सुनते हैं और सोचते हैं बस एक रात ही तो है पर उन्हें कौन समझाए कि रातों का यह मुसलसल यूं ही चलता रहता है और मैं हर रात मरती हूं She was never touched as admiration but as an exploitation.
