i still remember my first day at school. i was around four years old that day. it did not really make such a big impression on my young mind; but what i remember was the lemonade and sandwich my mom packed for me. funny, isn't it? i remember the food. i remember being excited about that first day, not because of any scholarly aspirations--of which i didn't understand, yet, anyway--but because of Mama's food. oh, and yes; i can still imagine the taste, as i excitedly sipped my lemonade and gobbled up my egg and mayo sandwich while watching my classmates play that day; and i remember Mama's voice, as she asked me about school, when she picked me up during class dismissal, asking, "well, child, how was your first day?" #firstschool #challenge #narrative #prose #yqbaba
