"आखिर चुप क्यूँ रहते हो" तुम---- चहकती है चिरय्या, हवाएँ भी सांय-सांय आवाज़ करती है, पानी बहता है कलकल, बारिश भी टप-टप आहट करती है, तुम क्यूँ अपने मन के घोड़ों को थामे रहते हो?, बताओ न, आखिर चुप क्यूँ रहते हो? मैं----- आसपास देखो तुम कौलाहल की स्थिति है, चिल्ला रहे है सब पर कहाँ किसी की ध्वनि सुनती है?, कहने वाले है कितने, सुनने की क्या क्षमता दिखती है?, ये जो उड़ती चिरय्या है, तुम्हें क्या गुमसुम नहीं लगती है?, मैं मन से इन सबको सुनता रहता हूँ, बस इसलिए, मैं चुप ही रहता हूँ| तुम--- इस भीड़ में गुम हो जाओगे, क्या डर नहीं लगता है?, सुनते-सुनते ही मर जाओगे, क्या फर्क नहीं पड़ता है?, मैं---- अरे!, जिनको सुनना नहीं उन्हें सुनाना क्यूँ है, जो राग न बैठे उस राग को गाना क्यूँ है!, तुम क्यूँ इतने सवाल करते रहते हो?, तुम---- क्यूँकी तुम बताते नहीं, आखिर चुप क्यूँ रहते हो?... "आखिर चुप क्यूँ रहते हो"

तुम----
चहकती है चिरय्या,
हवाएँ भी सांय-सांय आवाज़ करती है,
पानी बहता है कलकल,
बारिश भी टप-टप आहट करती है,
तुम क्यूँ अपने मन के घोड़ों को थामे रहते हो?,
बताओ न, आखिर चुप क्यूँ रहते हो?

मैं-----
आसपास देखो तुम कौलाहल की स्थिति है,
