She didn't have white skin. She was yellow. And so, she was treated, As yellow. Everywhere. Regardless of Her achievements; She would always be yellow, In their eyes-- Eastern, Asian, not white. A stigma, so persistent; That people were judged According to color-- Blacks were black; Browns were brown; Reds were red; Yellows were yellow; And white was epitomized, As the most coveted color-- Everyone seemed To do everything, Just to be whiter-- Just to appear purer.
