From the heart of a bed ridden The last days of my life, With all diseases in rife In the cot tired, helpless, Wanting for warmth and caress My health getting dwindled My own body has swindled No one to take care of me No one to hear my plea All, in their busy world In a corner I’m being hurled My shaking hands & wrinkled skin Deeper sighs, gloomy heart within Dimmer eyes & words stammering Many skins I started shedding Ego, pride and arrogance Rudeness and dominance The slipping time, I could feel Wish some time, I could steal. साद घालुनी थकली माय, पण लेकाने काही ऐकलीच नाय. हाक मायेची त्या, लेकाच्या कानाजवळ पोहोचलीच नाय. का दुर्लक्षितो लेक आपला, मायेला हा प्रश्न पडला. संगोपनात काय कमी पडले, हे ही काही कळेना तिला. असेल जरी प्रश्न अनुत्तरित तिचा, तरी लेकावर मायेचा वर्षाव कायमचा. दिसा मागून दिस बरेच गेले, ओरडण्याचे प्रकार ही वाढत गेले. विचारात ही नव्हते कधी तिच्या, असे विपरीत त्या मायेसोबत घडत गेले. अचानक खूप गोड गोड असे शब्द, कधी नव्हे ते मुलाच्या तोंडून फुटू लागले. मायेच्या त्या मनात ह्या प्रकाराचे, वेगळेच पडसाद उमटू लागले. काही दिसांनी झाले शेवटी तेच, ज्याची ह्या मायेला कल्पना ही नव्हती. ऐकून होती कधी ज्या वृद्धाश्रमा बद्दल, आज तिथे तिची ही झाली होती भरती.
